Placement Cell is a platform in an institute where the industry and students interaction takes place for the purpose of employment of outgoing students. It provides employment opportunities to the final year students through interviews/ group discussions/ tests that usually take place at the campus premises. The companies contact the college well in advance for this purpose and the students are prepared for their interviews.
Most of the companies usually give presentations of their company profile before they conduct the interviews. In this presentation the students are also made aware of the nature of their jobs, salary structures/ perks, promotion avenues and advanced studies facilities. In fact today, most of the companies are also providing postgraduate degree facilities along with the jobs the candidates take up with their companies. For e.g. Wipro offers an MS program with BITS Pilani along with the job offer.
This way the students are able to pursue sponsored advanced studies along with their jobs.
